Little Journey to USA, but amazing!!!!

June 16, 2010 : The day that I've been waiting for has come!
In the middle of the night at 01:00 a.m, I was awaken by the alarm that called me to take a bath. I was very exciting about my departure to the States, so I woke earlier than I should.
Allah SWT has given me a chance to change my life!
at 05:00 a.m : I'm ready to go.
The airplane had set, and my seat belt had been fastened. We were ready to go to USA. My schedule forced me to have 3x transits, in Kuala Lumpur, Hongkong, and San Fransisco. I think this trip is kinda the best journey that I've ever had, since I had to travel by myself, no one accompanied me. In Kuala Lumpur, everything was going fine.
at 01 p.m. : Arriving in Hongkong
Being in Hongkong has made me a bit stressed due to the transit time. I have to overnight there, but then I still hadn't had any hotel to be stayed in. Fortunately, friend from Indonesia helped me out by finding a nice hotel there.
I found a lot of exciting places there, I went to Prince Edward Road and Mong Kok (ladies' market) for buying some stuffs. A great experience that I didn't imagine it before. Myself was in Hongkong. Yieyyy!!!

June 17, 2010 : Phoenix
I arrived in Phoenix, my last destination, on June 17 at 01:00 p.m. Someone that picked me up was named Kara Moss. Kara is my hostfamily, not, perhaps we should call he hostlady since she still young and single. She's very nice. She gave me a hug at the first time, what could make me a bit surprised. Then we went through to her house and took a rest for whole day.

June 18, 2010 : activities were started
The day was my first day go outside home in Phoenix. Kara has some plans for me, so I can choose it. I chose to go to the Desert Botanical Garden.

09:30 : Desert Botanical Garden
Coming here was very experienced for me. I suggest you to come here if one day you are in Phoenix / Scottsdale. I could see varies of cactus there and any others dry plants. I felt like in the middle of desert there. Getting lost in the middle of nowhere :)
I forgot! Kara also introduced me to her guy friend, name Scott. He is such a nice person and very friendly. We were three walked around the garden.
at 12:30 p.m : Fashion Square
Here I was, in the mall of the town. Cool!!! I think Indonesia has a bigger one than this. But, I believe that there must be such a much bigger that the mall I visited.
Inside the mall, I had my lunch. I met the rice again here. I ate chicken teriyaki with steamed rice. I was guessing that the chef must be from Mexico or something. They were not talking in English! America always serves an extra large size for any kind of food. Me, the one who loves eating, still can not finish my food here. Wow!!! Surprised me!!!
at 03:00 p.m : meeting my international friends
this is the first time I met my international friends. They are coming from Panama, Brazil, Ghana, Turkey, India, Cameroon, and Pakistan. Love being one of them!
We went to the bank to open America's bank account. Ya, I have a bank account here. I'm very happy. Thereafter, we went back to the Inn at Pima to have some others orientation, and also had our cellphone. Yieeey, I had a cellphone and I could use the YM for free!! Yippieey..!
at 06:00 p.m : time to go home
Kara picked me up from the inn, and we went home. We had some dinner at home. She made something for me. It was very American. The day ended.

June 19, 2010 : welcome party
we prepared for the party tonight. but before, we went to Phoenix Art Museum.
at 13:30 p.m : at Phoenix Art Museum
I could find statue from Borobudur Temple here. Perfecto!! It just like being at home ;)
There I saw some paintings and some art-licious things. I don't think I could find same place in Indonesia. In here, I find that everybody appreciates someone's works. We should the same thing in Indonesia, shouldn't we?
at 06:00 p.m : welcome party
watta party I had! I thought I was in Mexico when I entered Allison's house, our instructor. There was decorated by Mexican style and they served Mexican food indeed. American has their own style to welcome their guests! It was extremely unforgettable moment for me. I wore a sombrero in front of the food. Wow! Mexico, here I come!!

The party ended by the song from Mohammed, the Iraq man. We all went home and took a nice
sleep.

June 20, 2010 : relax
It's time to relax and take a rest. I and Kara just did our laundry.
Kara taught me how to use the public washing machine. It is very simple and I easily remembered the system.
After finishing our laundry, I made a "bihun" from Indonesia for her, and she likes it!!! Yeah girl, you will love everything from Indonesia. While we're eating our bihun, we watched movie, My Girl 2. Is that film exist?? Ya, it is. I just have known the film in here, at her house. I thought there was only one film of My Girl. poor me!!!
Nothing to do on the day. We did ourselves business.

June 21, 2010 : ESL class is started
today is my first day coming to the school. It's huge! I think I will get lost here, and yes, it happened. The sun shines strongly and hot outside. We took an exam for English lesson. I could pass it easily because the exam wasn't as difficult as I thought. (sombong yaa?? :) )
Yeah, I have started my class and I have to continue it for the best!

at 03:50 p.m : I've just finished typing my blog here and hoping you'll enjoy to read this!

already miss you all,
Yoan

Precious Friends..

GOD is wise when He did not put a price tag on every friend He created...

if He did, I won't be able to afford to have a friend as precious as you !!
Thank you, amigos!!

What the friends are for...

So often in life, we need someone to listen while we talk.
Someone who will not condemn or judge,
but encourage us as we walk...

I asked that they'd be Godly,
with wisdom if His ways.
A friend to help and guide me
in the troubles of these days.

The narrow we choose to follow.
May sometimes make us stumble.
But to have a friend to catch our fall,
teaches us to be humble.

When I asked the Lord to send a friend,
though many came and went.
He gave much more than I ever asked,
for you are the friend He sent...
